Farah Abad mine

Farah Abad Lead & zinc mine is located 60km South – East of yazd toward Shiraz after Ali Abad village. This mine is in a mountainous region, 3000 meters above sea level. Since 1970 many exploration activities have been done in this mine, from which traditional exploration traces are visible on four different parts of mine. Later the exploration activities in this mine have been done based on traditional activities and have been continued by digging horizontal tunnels in different directions. Mostly the ore is lead and in shape of galena and zinc ore is less in quantity. Today exploitation from this mine is done through sublevel stopping.
